The Virtual Fashion Collection of H&M and Maisie Williams

H&M fashion

In collaboration with actress and spokesperson Maisie Williams, H&M debuted its first-ever Virtual Fashion line, but there's a catch. The capsule has three digitally produced costumes, each of which will be offered to one of three Virtual Fashion competition winners. You can enter to win the competition by submitting a fun and innovative name for one of the three looks on the H&M website from Monday, 10 January to Monday, 31 January, and a panel of judges will choose three winners to represent each market (UK, US, India, Japan, Germany, and France) during the first week of February.

DressX, a platform for digital and virtual clothes, collaborated with H&M to produce the Virtual Fashion collection. The idea behind virtual fashion, which is a form of non-fungible currency, is that the owner of the digital asset (in this case, a one-of-a-kind H&M outfit) sends photos to the brand or designer. DressX digitally tailors the virtual clothing in this example, making them specific to the size and shape of the customer's body. The consumer receives a snapshot of themselves wearing the virtual clothing after a few days of processing, "complete with moving animation effects, ready to share on their social channels," according to H&M.
