The Macallan has released its oldest whiskey to date, an 81-year-old single malt called 'The Reach,' priced at $125,000 each.

Macallan

It's common to hear about single malts that are 12 or 18 years old. But what about an 81-year-old whiskey? That is a first! And Macallan is presenting it to connoisseurs with the release of its latest – 'The Reach,' which has been aging since 1940.

'The Reach,' a World War II survivor, is one year older than a Glenlivet 80-year-old (also bottled in 1940) that was billed as the world's oldest single malt whiskey. It was bottled again last year in preparation for its release this month.

Each whiskey bottle is made of blown glass and features a bronze sculpture of three hands designed by sculptor Saskia Robinson. The decanters are even "indented with subtle fingerprints that match the hands that hold it," according to the brand.

The Best Hermès Bags for the Office

The Ideal Work Bag

Best Hermès Bag

If you're going to be carrying a work bag every day, it should be one you enjoy. While I wore a Hermès scarf every single day (the result of a bet I made with my husband while we were dating that I would wear one every day, and continued to do so even through pregnancy, childbirth(!) and baby-rearing, he finally conceded after ten years and has since become a hearty enabler), I didn't start buying Hermès bags until my older son was three. So, while I was working, I mostly carried a Chanel Cerf tote, which was certainly fashionable enough for me at the time, if a little clunky for dinner afterwards.

I liked that tote. It was a bag that I had saved up for and was pleased with. After a few previous disappointments (including a lovely Delvaux I bought at Saks that promptly broke, was sent to Europe for repair, and – eventually – refunded), I felt confident in having a good, well-made, functional, and attractive bag for daily use that would see me through from work to meetings to court to dinner. If I could have afforded a Hermès option (or if I ever decide to practice law again), I would have seriously considered the following:

Hugo Boss employees go on strike in response to plans to close the factory.

Hugo Boss's leather goods artisans have gone on strike in response to the announcement that the label's Scandicci-based factory will close, which has been supported by a number of Italian trade unions.

It comes after the fashion label informed unions that it planned to lay off 21 workers as part of the closure.

According to Sonia Paoloni, national secretary of one of the trade unions, Filctem CGIL, the decision to close the branch was "unacceptable," adding that cutting the "luxury production line means abandoning prototyping, the most crucial phase in the design of new products."

Outside the factory, strikers hung banners that echoed Paoloni's ideas, with quotes such as the brand's "Be your own boss" slogan, a reference to its recently launched ad campaign.

The Chloé Kattie Bag is now available.

Chloé Kattie Bag

Following the departure of Natacha Ramsay-Levi, Chloé appointed Gabriela Hearst as creative director in late 2020. Hearst comes from a design background and has been running her namesake label since 2015. The designer's dedication to sustainability, combined with her socially and environmentally conscious design ethos, marked the beginning of a new chapter for Chloé. With the debut of Hearst's second collection for spring 2022, the designer has found her place at Chloé.

Chloé debuts the Kattie bag this spring, which was first seen on the runway in October. The Kattie pays homage to Chloé's feminine essence by incorporating three iconic materials from the Maison: brass, wood, and leather. With a design that aims to provide both function and fashion. The flap bag features a one-of-a-kind bracelet detailing that serves as both a fun design element and a functional handle. The bag can also be worn cross-body or over the shoulder thanks to an adjustable strap.

Kate Middleton Went Shopping in the Practical Boots That New Yorkers Adore

Kate Middleton Went Shopping in the Practical Boots That New Yorkers Adore

Kate Middleton is exactly like us! I obviously say this with a wink and a nod, but she is in some ways. I'm sure she'd do a lot more "normal girl" things if she wasn't so recognizable. But every now and then, she decides to just go for it, and does things like go shopping in a department store by herself while wearing skinny jeans. That's exactly what she did in London this week, and with the outfit she chose for the occasion, she almost blends in.

Middleton dressed down for a rare solo shopping trip in a wool coat, cable knit sweater, skinny jeans, and Chelsea boots. The boots in question were a pair I immediately recognized because a fashion editor friend of mine who lives in Brooklyn was wearing a pair when I saw her in NYC a few months ago. She told me they were Blundstones and that everyone in New York wore them. They're said to be extremely lightweight, comfortable, and long-lasting.

Gucci has just released a new bag with an old-school vibe.

GUCCI

If you saw the House of Gucci film, you're probably still swooning over Lady Gaga's character, Patrizia Reggiani, and her heritage bags. While the film featured archival pieces, Gucci is known for modernizing their classic pieces through new releases. Alessandro Michele, Gucci's Creative Director, is a master at creating designs that are functional enough to hold both your modern belongings and their historical significance. Michele has found inspiration in Gucci's vault of treasures and is now blessing customers with a new bag: the Gucci Bamboo 1947 bag.

While an interlocking GG clasp and canvas logo print are common identifiers for Gucci bags, one of the brand's most significant historical identifiers is the bamboo handle. When traditional raw materials were scarce in the post-war era, Gucci began incorporating bamboo handles into bag designs in 1947 (hence the name of the new bag).

It didn't take long for the handles to become popular for their durability and aesthetics, and the house's new Gucci Bamboo 1947 bag taps into the same appeal that first propelled the brand's bamboo styles to fame—but with a modern twist.

Not a powerful king but a Russian businessman has built this fairytale castle in the middle of a lake - The gorgeous castle is one of the most popular tourist attractions and a favorite for Instagrammers. - Luxurylaunches

This fairytale castle in the middle of a lake was built by a Russian businessman, not a powerful king – The gorgeous castle is one of the most popular tourist attractions and a favorite among Instagrammers.

In today's world, dream homes usually refer to a spectacular penthouse in a high-rise or a sprawling cabin in the countryside, possibly a villa or a beachfront estate. It's safe to assume that almost no one says castle—unless they're tiny tots who believe in fairytales and fancy high-walled abodes.

Tembulat Erkenov, a legendary Russian businessman, not only thought outside the box, but also succeeded in realizing his vision of a massive castle right in the center of an artificial lake. The Chateau Erken, located in the Russian Federation's Kabardino-Balkaria autonomous republic, breaks every modern-age barrier of form, size, and scale and appears to be an exceptionally well-preserved medieval castle, complete with fishes, birds, and beautiful flora.

Scotland

As the year 2022 progresses, one thing remains constant: the importance of connection. Scotland is the ideal place to make soul-nourishing connections for anyone looking to practice self-care, explorers looking to meet like-minded people, and all couples looking for a cozy getaway.

Say yes to solo adventures.

Everyone can benefit from a solo retreat in Scotland, whether it's escaping to the great outdoors, practicing mindfulness, or indulging in a luxurious spa.

Throwing yourself into the unknown and unleashing your senses are synonymous with white sandy beaches and sheep-filled mountains.

A guided tour, such as Mary Meanders (great for female travelers) or Haggis Adventures (great for the younger set), is an easy way to explore Scotland alone, although chatty guides and small groups make for lifelong friendships. Travelers can take public transportation to get to remote locations and truly experience Scotland's wild side.

The sounds and sights of Hermaness National Nature Reserve in Lerwick are a real treat for the senses, and it's only a short flight away.

Or, why not see Scotland from a different, more mindful angle? Those looking for peace and quiet can bathe in the forest among ancient Caledonian pines with Highland Quiet Life, practice yoga and meditation at We Love Retreat in Abernethy, dive - head and heart first - into the cold sea with Immerse Hebrides, or kayak on a tranquil loch.

The famous Rotterdam bridge will be demolished to make way for Jeff Bezos' superyacht.

Rotterdam bridge

A spokesman for Rotterdam's mayor revealed that a historic bridge dating from 1877 will be partially destroyed in order enable a superyacht being built for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to pass through.

The luxury yacht, built by the Dutch firm Oceanco, is believed to be 417 feet (127 meters) long and 130 feet (40 meters) tall, making it too large to travel over the Koningshaven "De Hef" lift bridge. Mr. Bezos will foot the price through Oceanco for the temporary removal of the middle portion of the bridge that connects Noordereiland ('North Island') to the south of Rotterdam to allow the boat access.

The decision is divisive not just because of the steel bridge's long history, but also because it has been designated as a national monument following a significant refurbishment that took place from 2014 to 2017 and included assurances that it will not be disassembled again. The public is being justified because of the jobs that will be produced as a result of the vessel's construction, as well as the economic ramifications for the city.

Sneak peek at Louis Vuitton's future three-in-one bag

Louis Vuitton

Consider this a sneak peek at Louis Vuitton's future three-in-one bag, a tongue-in-cheek design set to debut on February 4, 2022 in Singapore.

Three Louis Vuitton icons have been downsized to micro-sized charms in the Trio Mini Icones, with the focal piece being the Speedy linked to an adjustable (and removable) natural leather shoulder strap.

The Alma and Noé both have a specific gold-tone lobster clasp, which Louis Vuitton has paired with the strap's ring loops to create a playful combination. Despite its diminutive size, it's quite useful, with a drawstring closing and a zipper pull that can hold numerous knickknacks.

The best aspect is that they are all detachable, allowing you to use them separately. Do you like to mix and match? Simply place the Alma or Noé on the strap of your MPA, for example, to transform it.

The SGD3450 Trio Micro Icones will come with a detachable leather shoulder strap that connects all three mini bags. To reserve a piece, text your SA or call client cervices at 6788-3888. These puppies are guaranteed to fly off the shelves on launch day.
