Origins

Pius Gabor founded a shoe store in Rosenheim, Germany, in 1919, with a small section dedicated to custom construction and labor shoe design. His designs rapidly became popular, owing to the high quality of the materials, design, and comfort, all of which are still profoundly ingrained in the brand's DNA today. WWII arrived in Rosenheim in 1945, completely destroying the shop and murdering Pius and his wife, leaving five sons behind.
