Fendi's Fall 2022 Bags Include Both Old and New Icons

Fendi's Fall 2022

Silvia Venturini Fendi, Kim Jones, and the House of Fendi are unstoppable these days. Season after season, the brand has delivered stunning runway shows after stunning runway shows, and the Fall 2022 show was no exception. Fendi Fall 2022, shown in Milan during Milan Fashion Week, is a beautiful ode to the Fendi archives. The new collection delves into the past and reimagines it for the present, putting a modern, fresh spin on House classics.

"The FENDI wardrobes are the best way to explore the FENDI archives." Kim Jones –

Bags from the Fendi Fall 2022 Runway

Kim Jones' rediscovery of Fendi's Spring/Summer 1986 collection inspired this collection. Jones lamented that, despite the fact that these collections are from the past, they still feel very current. The RTW pieces are simply stunning in their own right, with reworked geometric prints and an exploration of strength and softness. Of course, we're here for the bags, but we'd be remiss if we didn't mention how stunning each look was as a whole.

The Best Bags of Milan Fashion Week Fall 2022

Milan Fashion Week

While New York Fashion Week has come and gone, fashion month continues, and we have a whole new set of street style bags to show you. This time, we're heading to Milan to bring you some of the best bags we've seen on the streets of Italy. While Rome is the capital of Italy, Milan is unquestionably the fashion capital, and one of the best parts of fashion month is comparing the different looks in each city.

While there is some overlap, the fun thing about fashion month is that each city brings out different style stars, editors, fashion directors, and influencers, which means a new set of bags to admire! The first day of MFW featured a diverse range of bags. Of course, some of Italy's best and most storied designer brands were present (think Fendi, Valentino, and Bottega Veneta), but there were also a slew of other bags on display. Diesel officially participated in Milan's official Fashion Week for the first time in brand history, bringing out some of the streetwear brand's bags. Check out the entire collection of bags below!

The Jacquemus Le Bambino Bag Just Got Bigger.

Jacquemus Le Bambino

Three and a half years ago, the tiniest bag the handbag world had ever seen appeared on the scene, and it caused quite a stir. The bag that has become synonymous with the handbag world was introduced by the then-experimental French label Jacquemus. Despite its agita-inducing size, the Le Chiquito ended up in the hands of some of our time's most famous handbag collectors (think Selena Gomez, Emily Ratajkowski, Dua Lipa, Kendall Jenner, and more).

The label best known for its tiny bag is no longer indie, and both its RTW and accessories are in high demand season after season. The brand designer, Simon Porte Jacquemus, is known for its experimental ideology and knack for playing with outlandish proportions, but he also makes sleek and functional carryalls—you know, those that will work for the more practical fashionistas among us.

Because of their undeniable it factor and unique shapes, I've had my eye on some of Jacquemus' more usable bags for a few seasons now. I was primarily interested in the Le Grand Chiquito, though I must admit that each time I return to the bag, I have difficulty pulling the trigger. I like Jacquemus bags because of the "if you know, you know" factor, and I like that the bags have a more streetwear aesthetic, which goes well with my wardrobe. I keep coming back to Jacquemus bags, and adding one to my collection this year is on my to-do list.

Take a closer look at the world's most valuable and outrageous RV

It's two stories tall, costs more than $3 million, expands sideways, and includes a pop-up nightclub.

$3 million RV

Is it just me, or does this RV look like a prop vehicle from a sci-fi film set in the twenty-first century? The front end of this one-of-a-kind RV is unlike even the most futuristic motorhomes we've seen to date, but the makers claim that it's more about function than form. It's not just the bizarre design; the Elemment Palazzo RV is quite possibly one of the most innovative and luxurious RVs ever built.

The Elemment Palazzo, designed by Austrian brand Marchi Mobile, has a clean-slate design rather than following the design principles of traditional RVs. For inspiration on aerodynamics, lightweight materials, and general automotive engineering, the company looked to the world of supercars. The end result is something truly unique.

The first high end hovercraft in the world. It resembles an open-top sports car, is electric, and can travel at 60mph over land and water.

high end hovercraft

This is an amphibious vehicle that is being marketed as the world's first luxury sports hovercraft. Von Mercier, a British startup, created the hovercraft to look like a sporty sports car with styling cues from speedboats and even fighter jets.

The Arosa hovercraft is operated by an electric powertrain with a backup petrol engine to charge its battery pack when necessary. The powertrain is said to be made up of three electric motors that produce a total of 118 horsepower (88 kW). The motors, however, do not power any wheels because there are none. The two flashy rims in front are actually rotors for the fan ducts that feed the air cushion.

Because it lacks conventional wheels, the vehicle floats seven inches above the surface of solid ground or water on an air cushion. As a result, the Arosa has a top speed of around 60mph on land and water.

It may not be as fast as a sports car, but the British company claims it is the fastest amphibious vehicle ever built. Hovercrafts are also known for their difficult handling characteristics, but Arosa's patented advanced directional control system promises superior maneuverability in all four directions, according to the company's founder Michael Mercier (reverse, forward, left, and right).

The Louis Vuitton Addict

Louis Vuitton

"I'm a big fan of their limited-edition bags." I only purchase limited-edition LV bags because they are more distinctive."

In today's Closet Confessionals, we meet a collector in his mid-20s who has amassed an enviable collection of bags in the eight years since his journey began. CC 146, a social worker from the Bay Area of California, lusts after Louis Vuitton and enjoys obtaining some of the brand's limited-edition bags.

Though his collection began with an MCM backpack given to him as a gift from his parents when he was 18, it is a Louis Vuitton bag that holds the most sentimental value, as CC 146 purchased it for himself after graduating from college.

CC 146, like many of us, has a lot of bags on his mind, but this year he hopes to delve deeper into the Hermès world. CC 146 is currently not big on budgeting and believes that his shopping can be a problem at times, but as with many young collectors, these opinions may change over time. One thing stands out, and that is CC 146's enthusiasm for the world of luxury bags! Read the entire CC now, and don't forget to submit your own!

Balenciaga Introduces A New Thermoformed Calfskin Basket Bag.

Balenciaga

Demna Gvasalia has elevated traditional grocery baskets and shopping bags to new heights, as evidenced by his love of the Bistro and Barbès, all of which have appeared in recent Balenciaga collections.

Balenciaga, on the other hand, keeps introducing whimsical styles like this Mag Large Basket Bag, which can be seen on looks 12 and 14 of its Spring-Summer 2022 'Clones' collection. While the bag is significantly larger at 50 cm wide and 30 cm high, the highlight has to be the innovative thermoformed calfskin it comes in.

This cool tote has a see-through pattern in front and on the sides and is moulded to form a thick, solid structure. Because it has a zipped compartment and an extra slip pocket to keep your essentials neat and organized at all times, the back panel is completely covered. Dual handles are an added bonus, giving you a full supermarket-chic look with a Balenciaga twist.

The Mansur Gavriel Lilium Bag is now available.

Mansur Gavriel Lilium Bag

A new handbag brand burst onto the scene ten years ago and quickly filled a market gap, speaking to women looking for simple, quality designs at an affordable price. What began in 2012 as a small independent bag brand with a few, albeit beloved, silhouettes quickly became a household name in the industry, quickly selling out its inventory.
An Icon's Tribute

Throughout the company's incredible growth and expansion, the designers behind Mansur Gavriel—Floriana Gavriel and Rachel Mansur—have never deviated from their original aesthetic to conform to current industry trends. Rather, they have chosen to stick to the brand's mission of providing classic, simple silhouettes in rich materials finished with impeccable artisanship.

The Mansur Gavriel Lilium Bag is the brand's latest design, and it pays homage to one of the originals. The Lilium bag is structured but soft, and is said to be an evolution of the brand's iconic bucket style. It is inspired by the lily flower, both in nature and in paintings by artists Georgia O'Keeffe and David Hockney.

The Macallan has released its oldest whiskey to date, an 81-year-old single malt called 'The Reach,' priced at $125,000 each.

Macallan

It's common to hear about single malts that are 12 or 18 years old. But what about an 81-year-old whiskey? That is a first! And Macallan is presenting it to connoisseurs with the release of its latest – 'The Reach,' which has been aging since 1940.

'The Reach,' a World War II survivor, is one year older than a Glenlivet 80-year-old (also bottled in 1940) that was billed as the world's oldest single malt whiskey. It was bottled again last year in preparation for its release this month.

Each whiskey bottle is made of blown glass and features a bronze sculpture of three hands designed by sculptor Saskia Robinson. The decanters are even "indented with subtle fingerprints that match the hands that hold it," according to the brand.
